Today, women and families in Northern Virginia are in desperate need. In 2009, Arlington County saw a 25% increase in the incidence of family homelessness. Not since the great depression have so many families been without homes. The current economic crisis also affects the number of domestic violence incidence.
This year, calls to Doorways’ Domestic Violence Hotline increased by 50%, yet fewer women chose to leave abusers due to financial fears. Doorways relies on the generosity of people like you to help women and families in need. Every donation counts!
The Brighter Futures Society is an elite association of forward-thinking individuals who understand the critical nature of philanthropic investment in order to facilitate social change. The society recognizes individual donors who make a five-year commitment of $1,000 or more each year to help end the cycles of domestic violence and family homelessness in Northern Virginia.
Membership in the Leadership Circle honors individual donors who have made an annual commitment of $1,000 or more in support of the mission of Doorways for Women and Families.
