Shereé Harmon

Caroline Jones

Caroline Jones, MSW, Executive Director – joined Doorways as the Transitional Housing Program (now HomeStart) Director in August 2003. In 2005, Ms. Jones was promoted to Doorways Client Service Director where she directed and enhanced all Doorways client service programs.  Under her leadership, Doorways transformed client service delivery to provide comprehensive, family-centered and strength-based supports for women and families.  Ms. Jones has led the development and implementation of Doorways’ Children’s Services, Financial Independence Track, Child Mental Health Services, and expansion in our Family Home and HomeStart programs. In addition, she served as a member of the Executive Leadership team to support agency operations and management. Ms. Jones offers more than 18 years of service to at-risk children and families along with a Master’s in Social Work, with emphasis on child welfare and clinical intervention. She has extensive experience in leadership, direct client services, mutual competency models of supervision, advocacy, program development and evaluation and community partnerships.

Heather O’Malley Heather joined the Doorways team as the Donor Relations Director in September 2009 before being promoted to Development Director in July 2011. She brought with her ten years of fundraising experience. Prior to joining Doorways, Heather was with the American Red Cross as a Senior Major Gift Officer, managing a strategic fundraising pilot program to train and support American Red Cross chapters across the country in individual major gifts fundraising using the Benevon Model for Sustainable Funding. She also served as the Major Gifts Officer for Biomedical Services at the American Red Cross, securing financial contributions from national foundations and corporations for the blood services program. Prior to the Red Cross, Heather served as the Assistant Director of Development at the University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business, where she successfully raised major gifts from alumni and friends of the School. Heather has both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Towson University in Maryland.

Marielle Filholm – joined Doorways in August 2004 and, after a year with Doorways, was promoted to be the Director of the Domestic Violence Program. Under Ms. Filholm's leadership, the three programs she directed, 24-hour Hotline, Court Advocacy and Companionship Program, and the Safehouse, incorporated best practices and grew in their mission. Also, she oversaw the creation of Doorways' PAWS (Pets and Women's Shelter) program, granting women and families the ability to keep their pets with them when they are in the Safehouse. In the community, Ms. Filholm took on a leadership role in the Arlington County initiative Project PEACE, serving as a committee chair dedicated to end abuse in our community. Ms. Filholm was promoted again, in 2011, to serve as Client Services Director, where she is responsible for supervising all client services staff and overseeing all programmatic operations. Supporting Ms. Filholm's track record of leadership on domestic violence issues is a master's degree in Forensic Psychology and over ten years of experience working in programs for victim services, child development and welfare, therapeutic housing programs for families, and law enforcement. Ms. Filholm's work has been featured in local and national media, including O, The Oprah Magazine, The Washington Post, and USA Today.
