Volunteers help Doorways support and care for families in a time of crisis. Below are just a few of our volunteer opportunities for individuals.
Urgent Volunteer Needs
Interpreters
Looking to use your language skills? We need volunteers to interpret for clients whose primary language is not English. Read the Volunteer Description.
Ongoing Volunteer Needs
Family Home and Safehouse Coverage Volunteer
Provide direct service to shelter clients. Answer the hotline, provide support to individuals and families in crisis and assist staff in the day to day operations of the shelter.

Children’s Volunteer
Assist with evening childcare during weekly support groups and parenting classes or monthly dinner programs. Read the Volunteer Description.
Administrative Support Volunteer
Assist with special projects, answering phones, mailings and meeting preparation, trainings and other administrative tasks as needed. Read the Volunteer Description.
Grocery Shopper
Support Doorways’ families by assisting with weekly grocery shopping for the Family Home and Safehouse. Read the Volunteer Description.
Storage Volunteer
Our storage room serves on average 75 individuals on a daily basis and needs to be clean, organized, and running efficiently! Read the Volunteer Description.
Education and Outreach Volunteer
Support Doorways and connect with the community by tabling at events, flyering at the Metro, giving presentations, and planning efforts for Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Homelessness Awareness Month. Assist with the planning of our special events and provide support on the day of events. Read the Volunteer Description.
