Marsha retired from Arlington County after 37 years of service, starting as a community planner, serving as the Director of the Department of Human Services (DHS), and ending her career with Arlington as Deputy County Manager. Marsha became acquainted with Doorways through her work with Arlington addressing issues of poverty and homelessness. She was involved in the establishment of Project PEACE, coordinating efforts of public and private entities to address domestic violence in the County. In addition to Doorways, she serves on the board of directors of the Northern Virginia Health Foundation, and the Arlington Retirement Health Corporation (owner of Culpepper Garden senior housing).
Marsha enjoys spending time at her home on Cape Cod, and visiting family in Hawaii, where she was born and raised. She is particularly enjoying her new role as grandma, visiting her granddaughter, who lives in the Bay Area of California.
