MLK Day: Listen-and-Learn and Welcome Home Scavenger Hunt
Join Doorways for a mini Listen-and-Learn at Washington-Liberty, followed by a Welcome Home Scavenger Hunt to support survivors in the Arlington Community! Open to individuals or groups, all ages welcome!
Event Details: Volunteers will get an introduction to Doorways, Arlington’s only emergency shelter for survivors in imminent danger due to domestic and sexual violence. Learn more about who we are and how you can contribute to a safer, more empowered community!
Then, we’ll send you (or you and your team) off on a Doorways Scavenger Hunt! Volunteers will be given a list of items needed to build a Welcome Home kit for clients who are moving from shelter into their own, independent housing. Item donations range from about $35-100. A few bonus tasks are included as well! After collecting the items, we’ll meet you at Doorways’ Administrative Office in the Ballston Quarter to turn in your finished kits.
