Donate Cars and Other Used Vehicles
Doorways has partnered with CARS – a 501(c)(3) nonprofit – to accept your vehicle donations! You can now support Doorways by donating your car, truck, boat or other used vehicle to help us in our mission to create pathways out of homelessness, domestic violence, and sexual assault, leading to safe, stable, and empowered lives.
You can make this donation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by filling out this online form. Make sure that you have your title available to fill out the form completely. We accept vehicles of all makes and conditions.

How does this work?
CARS (Charitable Adult Rides & Services), is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit social enterprise owned by a nonprofit that supports other nonprofits through vehicle donations. They will arrange a convenient time to have your vehicle towed at no cost to you. Within four to six weeks, they will mail you all required tax form documentation.
Vehicle donations made to Doorways are tax deductible to the amount allowed by law. The best practice is to consult with a tax professional on how to maximize your tax deduction since every car donation and tax situation is unique. In general, the IRS limits the tax deduction to the gross proceeds from the sale of the car, truck, or other vehicle. Charitable contributions must be itemized on Schedule A of Form 1040 to qualify. If the gross proceeds exceed $500, Form 1098C “Contributions of Motor Vehicles, Boats, and Airplanes” and Form 8283 “Noncash Charitable Contributions”, must also be completed and attached. Forms 1098C and 8283 are required to be provided to the donor within 30 days of the sale of the vehicle.
